It’s Good Friday. As Christians around the world ponder the meaning and significance of Jesus’ crucifixion, here are two podcast episodes that take a look at the event within its historical context:

New podcast on the Bible & history

For those who are looking for another podcast, “Biblical Time Machine” features Prof. Helen Bond (Edinburgh University) & journalist David Roos. So far, they’ve discussed the “historical” Jesus; authorship of the New Testament; and Jesus’ female disciples.

This is the blog of Brian LePort (PhD, University of Bristol), a rare bird who teaches philosophy, religious studies, and theology to high schoolers. You’ll find posts on these topics, but also a wide array of other subjects like fatherhood, being a Californian who lives in Texas, interesting tidbits of history, etc. I hope you enjoy!
